SO RIGHT vs SO WRONG

I fear for the youth. 

I hope things change for our youth. 

I AM and will CONTINUE to be that change.

Late last night while checking my Facebook, I came across this Dove ad:

I have a strong opinion about what young girls are viewing as "beauty". Hell, what women, period, are viewing as "beauty". When I was younger I had really bad acne (I still have the occasional breakouts and scarring from past breakouts). I was picked on for years in school..I won't get into the names I was called and the bullying I endured...because this post is not about me.

A LOT of women with children (daughters, especially), don't realize HOW MUCH they take in. 

I'm so disgusted by all the skin lightening, augmentations (sp?), weight loss, obsessions that has taken over the minds of CHILDREN.

For some reason, I can't even form my words right...I have so much to say on the topic but again, this post is about being right AND wrong.

Is it just me, or do you feel like you've been bamboozled?! As my dear friend, Ann Spade, would say, Dove got 'splainin to do.

I do REALIZE the brutality we continue to commit on our Earth. I've stopped shopping at certain establishments and buying A LOT of products simply because of the effect it has on the environment. I know it's hard to simply avoid EVERYTHING..but you've got to start somewhere!! When I see something that opens my eyes, I take action. I encourage you to do the same, doesn't matter the size. As long as you make a move. If we continue to walk around aimlessly....this shit is serious. We are KILLING this planet. I will do more research for myself, but now that I know and as it stands...I will no longer be purchasing Dove products.
